About Us
| BACKGROUND OF THE CAP TEST | |
| To ensure quality results for
the investment into students at TVET Colleges, it is imperative that the
right students should be registered for the right programs. Currently very few persons are registered with the HPCSA in the TVET sector to conduct psychometric assessments. If Colleges do not have registered person/s, they need to outsource this service if they want to use psychometric assessments to place their students. If they have registered person/s, they need to purchase the assessment instrument and these tests are normally expensive and time consuming for the staff involved. This was the motivation for us to develop a competency based placement tool for TVET Colleges. The test was developed by a Registered Counsellor (Careers) and a Registered Psychometrist. |

CAP is a tool used to assist the Colleges to identify prospective NC(V) level 2 students who have basic fundamental knowledge of English Second Language and Mathematical Literacy skills to cope with the academic learning material. |
| The CAP test will also assist student/s to choose a vocational programme aligned with his/her interests and guide the College to place students in appropriate vocational programmes. The focus of the CAP test is to identify the level of additional academic support some students may require. | |
